Kao named Vilas Distinguished Service Professor

W. John Kao, professor, in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division has been appointed a Vilas Distinguished Service Professor. This five-year professorship, effective January 1, 2012, recognizes distinguished scholarship and excellence in teaching and service.

Plavicki continues to add flair to science

The confocal imagery from Jessica Plavicki, post doc researcher in the lab of Warren Heideman, professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, recently made a splash as the "picture of the day" with Science360, a web-based science news service.

Stroud to present work on Hobbes in England

Elaine Stroud, assistant director of the American Institute of the History of Pharmacy, has been invited to participate in a workshop on the natural philosophy of Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679) in Oxford, England in early February.
