The University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy has been a national leader in pharmacy education and research for more than a century. Established in 1883, it was the first school of pharmacy to offer a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy. It was also the nation's first to award doctoral degrees in pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, the history of pharmacy, social studies of pharmacy, continuing education, and one of the first in pharmacy administration.
