Overview

The University of Wisconsin Community Pharmacy Residency Program (UWCPRP) offers innovative practice experiences through a variety of community practice sites as well as unique opportunities for teaching and research with faculty members at the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Pharmacy.

Goals of the UWCPRP

To develop within the resident, the following:

  1. Clinical competence in the field of community clinical practice.
  2. Competence in clinical practice program development and practice management.
  3. Competence in teaching and training.
  4. Professional leadership through community and professional involvement and scholarly activities.
  5. Competence in self-evaluation and self-directed learning.

History of the Program

The UWCPRP was established in 2003 in a collaborative effort by a group of independent community pharmacies involved in training community pharmacy residents and the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy. The program was created to advance innovative community pharmacy practice through the development of quality residency training programs designed to enhance the practice skills of today’s community pharmacist.
