The University of Wisconsin Community Pharmacy Residency Program (UWCPRP) offers innovative practice experiences through a variety of community practice sites as well as unique opportunities for teaching and research with faculty members at the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Pharmacy.

Goals of the UWCPRP

To provide a structured learning environment to prepare a resident to:

  1. Provide direct patient care
  2. Develop and implement patient care services
  3. Train others to develop innovative practice skills and services
  4. Obtain community pharmacy management expertise, and
  5. Contribute to the advancement of community pharmacy practice through research activities

History of the Program

The UWCPRP was established in 2003 in a collaborative effort by a group of independent community pharmacies involved in training community pharmacy residents and the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy. The program was created to advance innovative community pharmacy practice through the development of quality residency training programs designed to enhance the practice skills of today’s community pharmacist.
