*Clerkships to total 35 credits. See Notes below for more information.

Notes:

Some students will be assigned to clerkship sites outside the Madison area; some students will not receive their desired choice of clerkship region (“hub”). Not all students will need to complete the 4th PHM PRAC 760 clerkship, but some may need to do so for professional elective credits or to reach a total of 206 degree credits; other students may choose to complete the 4th PHM PRAC 760 clerkship for further professional development. Students should consult with their academic advisor.

A total of 35 credits of clerkships is required for graduation. However, due to the academic
calendar and associated credit values of clerkships, students actually will complete more than 35 credits. Clerkship credits in excess of 35 will count as professional elective credits.

**Depending upon a particular student’s situation, a variable number of professional elective credits will be needed in the DPH-3 year, and additional credits (2 history credits, 3 humanities credits, and/or free-choice elective credits) also may be needed in that year. Students should consult with their academic advisor.
