Overview

Our lab is focused on developing biomaterials for combination drug therapy to treat resistant cancers. The goal is to create synthetic materials capable of delivering multiple types of drugs within a single payload, and therefore favorably reduce the dose liming toxicity of individual drugs. We are also interested in using the incredible homing ability of stem cells towards cancer sites as a natural means of delivering drug-loaded nanoparticles (alone or in combination) and testing these new systems in tumor-bearing animals. Ultimately, we believe that effective delivery of chemotherapeutics could reduce the extent of surgery or radiation required in cancer patients.
